2 Little Known Tips to Keep your Home Mould Free.

Updated: Mar 23, 2023

Working with the moon cycles isn't just about gardening, you can also make your hair grow thicker or your nails grow stronger. One thing I always do is work with the moon to keep mould at bay in my home.

Where I live in Cornwall, UK, it's likely that from time to time mould will form somewhere in the house. It rains a lot here!

Something I tried out to great effect was using the moon cycles to keep mould away. How, you wonder? Well, firstly I highly recommend getting yourself a good moon diary.

For mould, find a day when the moon is waxing, ascending, and in a fire sign. The fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Today, as I write this, is perfect! The moon is in Aries and both waxing and ascending.

After cleaning the mould, let the area dry, leave a window open to ventilate the room, and then place an ivy plant in the space. This is common English ivy (Hedera Helix); various studies have shown that it removes up to 80% of mould spores within 12hrs alongside other toxins. It is wise to note that the leaves and berries are toxic to ingest so keep away from pets and children if they are prone to munching on the greenery.

With love, Julie.
